It is raining again!

Rain always take me to the bygone days of my childhood .Those carefree days when I don't have to think about what needs to be cooked for dinner, when I don't have to worry about any project deadlines, away from the worries of humdrum life ....

My favourite place was the window besides my room. I will be glued to my bed which was kept in adjacent to the window, through which I kept counting the droplets of water trickling from the leaves of mango and the peepal tree. TIP....TIP.....TIP.....TIP....TOP...TIP...TOP. There were total five trees two trees of banana, one mango tree, one peepal tree and the other one was mahogany. The trees of mango and mahogany were old and the branches had grown so much into each other that one could not fathom which branch belong to which one. The green foliage was dense. My eyes will not have enough of the sight, to see the verdant trees lined up outside the window.

The dense canopy used to serve as the home of many sparrows and humming birds. My heart used to dance with joy to hear their gentle cacophony during the rains. Their chirp used to blend with the sound of rain clattering on the roof and on the leaves. The storm water drain which was just a passage carved in the soil used to serve as the swimming pool for my dainty friends, the sparrows and the humming birds. And I must say that they were so disciplined that they will take turn to dip in the pellucid water. They will line up in one of the mango branch jutting out from its huge trunk and one by one they will whir down to take a dip in the pristine water flowing down. Ahhhh ..... It was cynosure for any nature lover.

Sipping tea in my balcony and watching the rain dribbling from the leaves of palash trees, I miss my dainty friends which I have left in the pages of childhood. They are secluded and obscured from the world in a corner of my heart. But when the rain comes, they start rejoicing and waltzing with me..
